Our Team
Rob Alway, Editor-in-Chief/CEO
Rob's career extends over three decades. His experience is diverse, including editing, journalism, photography, videography, marketing and film production. He has earned several awards in his career from the Associated Press and Michigan Press Association, Professional Photographers of Michigan and Professional Photographers of America. A motion picture he produced recently won a national award as well. Rob has a bachelor's degree in communications from Grand Valley State University. He started Media Group 31 in 2012 with the creation of the online news service Mason County Press.
Allison Scarbrough, News Editor
Allison Scarbrough has been a journalist for three decades. She oversees news editing for Oceana County Press and Mason County Press. She has a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in liberal studies with a journalism emphasis. Allison joined the MG31 team in 2014. She has worked for numerous newspapers in west Michigan, including a stint as assistant editor for a daily publication. The Michigan Press Association award winner has also been published nationally in magazines.
